The Guest Cottage at Carnival Beach House. Yes we really are Beachfront. You won't be disappointed. The pebble beach is easily accessible and swimable. You have direct access to the beach from your suite. Carnival Beach House is one of the few villas on St John that has this. Look for a photo like this one, which shows the ocean, the beach and the villa. Located on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Guest Cottage at Carnival Beach House is now available for rent. The Guest Cottage has two levels and each level has a studio suite. Special rates are available for 1 - 2 persons, see below. The main house is occupied by the caretaker. Carnival Beach House constructed using native stone wall techniques. The stones were quarried locally and accented by coral, conch and sea shells. The pool is large by rental villa standards - 21 x 34. The Beach House is truly beach front with Klein Bay just a few steps away. A private path to the water provides access to swimming and snorkeling. Klein Bay is a pebble beach while a white sand beach, Ditliff Beach, is a 15 minute nature walk or a 10-15 minute swim or snorkel. Both Ditliff Beach and Klein Bay are protected by Ditliff Peninsula, so the calm, crystal clear waters are sheltered from heavy surf and strong winds and offer very good swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and wind surfing. Occasionally when the surf is up, you can hear the pebbles on the beach wash in and out. It's hypnotic! Klein Bay is a 10-15 minute drive from the groceries, restaurants and shops of Cruz Bay, all on paved roads. The Pool from the upper level The architect of Carnival Beach House is the master architect of St. John, Glen Speer. Glen is the architect of Mongoose Junction and many other distinctive homes on St John. In addition, the stonemasons for the house were the same masons that did Mongoose Junction. The stonemasons were featured in the November 2005 issue of Caribbean Travel and Life. If you like Mongoose Junction you will love Carnival Beach House! The House is a beautiful design that blends traditional Caribbean architectural features with modern comforts and amenities. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were made locally as were the screen doors from Honduran mahogany. Mahogany trim abounds around the doors, floors and ceiling. The exterior lighting fixtures are also locally made. Classic architectural elements include; Italian floor tiles, beamed cathedral ceiling in the upper level, and private balconies/decks. Modern creature comforts and amenities include an infinity edge pool, ceiling fans, air conditioning and cable TV/DVD/CD player. Each studio suite has its own kitchenette with built-in hot plate and microwave oven. A large two-burner barbeque is located poolside. The view of the upper studio suite, taken from the driveway.
