Skyridge is private and quiet -- one of St. John's most desirable rentals for your dream vacation. Take all 4 bedrooms for 5-8 people, or use just the top floor for 2-4 people. Skyridge, with its large open floor plan, is perfect for two to four people. It features high beamed ceilings, and two large bedrooms with private baths. Easy to get to, with all driving on paved roads in the exclusive Upper Carolina estate. When you arrive, you have incredible views. Bordering the National Park, private and quiet Skyridge sits at 600 feet. Two large decks and many sliders and windows open the house to mountain vistas, with gorgeous panoramic views of the turquoise sea and fourteen islands. There are ceiling fans in every room, and the cooling sea breezes flow through the house. Bedrooms are air- conditioned. A laundry with washer and dryer is on site for guest's use, and the house is fully stocked with linens. Skyridge is only minutes from St. John’s North Shore National Park beaches for swimming or snorkeling enjoyment. Skyridge is fully-equipped for your comfort with coolers, beach towels and chairs. Or head to the laid back ambiance of Coral Bay, only five minutes away. Without losing any of its charm, Coral Bay has recently grown up from the sailing community it used to be and now features quite a few nice restaurants and shopping, including a gourmet market. Love City Mini Mart is still here for groceries. And Coral Bay’s world famous Skinny Legs beach bar is always a favorite. On Sunday morning, eat with the locals at popular Donkey Diner. Cruz Bay with all of its offerings is only about 15-20 minutes away. Skyridge has recently been remodeled and painted. The spacious high beamed ceiling Great Room has new comfortable wicker furnishings and fun whimsical decor. There is a fully-equipped entertainment center with a stereo and HD flat screen TV with DVD player and cable. There is a good selection of movies, or you can rent DVDs in Coral Bay. And bring along your favorite music and movies to make Skyridge truly yours. The large teak table is great for dining inside or playing games. Skyridge's game closet is fully stocked with poker supplies, board games, puzzles, etc. The fully-equipped kitchen was just remodeled and has new appliances and everything you'll need for cooking any of your meals at the villa. Appliances include a large refrigerator, stove/convection oven, cooktop range, microwave, toaster, blender and coffeemaker. Phones and modem connections are provided. There is also a poolside gas barbeque that is perfect for grilling and dining by the pool. The kitchen has a handy pass-though window to the deck's outside dining area with bar height table and chairs for some of the best views and breezes in the Caribbean. Sitting here and watching the birds and hundreds of sailboats that navigate the Sir Francis Drake Channel daily is a peaceful and entertaining experience, so be sure to bring your binoculars and camera! The house is situated perfectly for breezes and for beautiful sunrise and sunset color, but not the glaring heat one would get if directly facing west or east. Happy hour on deck with tropical rum blender drinks is not be missed! During the morning, put out some sugar for the local bananaquits. You can also see hawks seen hunting below, along with four varieties of hummingbirds.. The night brings countless stars and twinkling lights of homes on the British Islands of Tortola and Jost Van Dyke, and moored ships in the Narrows. If you happen to be here during a full moon, seeing it light up the sea as it rises over the channel is an unforgettable experience! The two upper guest bedrooms are located off the Great Room. Each has a private bath featuring a wonderful outdoor shower area with a spectacular view of the ocean and stars. Although treetop Skyridge is usually nice and cool, each bedroom can be air-conditioned separately. The west bedroom has a comfortable king bed with five mountain view windows, and a large double sink bathroom with outdoor shower facing the sea. The east bedroom has four windows with ocean and garden views and it can be converted into twin beds or a king. There is a desk/bureau with phone/modem just right for checking mail. For larger groups of more than four people, the middle level of the villa is opened. This is a separate duplex, with 1200 square feet of living space. It includes three colorful bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, and Great Room and decks, and is large enough to be its own house! There is a comfortable and colorful wicker furniture living room with TV and stereo. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a dining table. Pick your own limes from this level’s living room deck! Like upstairs, each bedroom can be air-conditioned also. The queen suite, complete with private bath, is located off the Great Room. Sliding doors lead to a comfortable deck with panoramic views of the sea, the British Virgin Islands and the flowering garden. The king suite and bathroom (with an outdoor ocean view shower!) is large and is accessed from the Great Room or by a separate stairway entryway. The same deck with great views and breezes is also accessible through a screen door. The third bedroom is smaller and although cute and comfortable, it shares a bath with the king suite so for your comfort, we prefer to leave it unoccupied. The surrounding grounds are a lush one-half acre professionally landscaped garden which is home to many birds and is constantly in bloom with tropical plants including bougainvillea, gardenia, hibiscus, and bird of paradise. You can pick your own bananas, papaya, mango, coconuts, soursop, cashews, guava and limes from the fruit trees in season! If you rent at Christmas, you will see the vivid 20 ft. tall poinsettia beside the deck! The decorative tile pool is one of the most relaxing on St. John and has beautiful mountain views by day and countless stars and lights by night. The large tiled patio around it features a gas barbeque grill, outside shower and comfortable lounge and dining furniture. It is completely quiet and private, surrounded by banana and palm trees. For visits to the magnificent beaches ten minutes away, there are beach chairs, coolers and beach towels. Two outdoor showers are available for rinsing -- a carport shower at garden level, plus the poolside shower. The views to the north and south from Skyridge are truly spectacular. From small cays and to the British Virgin Islands, the villa's quiet ridge top location boasts panoramic vistas and delightful breezes that only a handful of St. John properties can offer. Estate Carolina on the eastern side of the island offers dramatic views of St. John’s emerald green hills, quaint Coral Bay and the British Virgin Islands. Carolina’s proximity to the island’s more slow-paced city, Coral Bay, where there are plenty of unique shops and restaurants, ensures you will have no shortage of entertainment. Although Upper Carolina is close to Coral Bay, you won’t find any hustle and bustle here. Carolina has a relaxed feel, and is the perfect place to really unwind on your vacation. The majority of roads in Carolina are paved, so you don’t have to worry about wrestling with your rental car on bumpy dirt roads. This quiet neighborhood is just a 10-15 minute drive to the popular South Shore beach, Salt Pond Bay, and is even closer to beautiful North Shore beaches Maho Bay and Francis Bay. Carolina is also not far from the sugar factory ruins at Annaberg Plantation, and top-notch snorkeling at Waterlemon Cay off Leinster Bay.
