One of our favorite quotes from our Villa Guest Book is:
"...the best damn villa on St. John! We canít wait to come back to enjoy this again next year...Our expectations were exceedingly exceeded!"

Amazing! There were 8 of us on this return visit to Great Expectations and though this place has always been a wonderful getaway, the renovations to the Great Room definitely added to our experience. The views from both sides of the house were, as always, breathtaking, and in addition to being able to see both amazing sunrises and sunsets, we were treated to 2 full rainbows during our week. We can't wait to return. [this was the 4th time she has stayed at Great Expectations]

Our private getaway was perfection in paradise and the view was phenomenal!
On a ridge between Chocolate Hole and Hart Bay, we got to see amazing vistas. In the morning the sun rises over Hart Bay as I enjoyed my morning coffee to the sound of birds and waves. Ah! During the day we explored the island and went to the various beaches. As we snorkeled, we saw and octopus, squid, turtles and all kinds of fishes in the reefs. On the way back to the villa, we shopped in Cruz Bay at Mongoose Junction and Starfish market. We'd shower and get nice and tidy to watch the sunset over Chocolate Hole with rum cocktails. The Great Room's kitchen had everything we needed to cook at the villa, when we didn't eat out in Cruz Bay. There is a lot of room at Great Expectations, so much that when we wanted to be alone from the rest of the family, we could go to our room and sit on our private patio. We didn't want to leave! Thank you Kristin and Chuck, your villa truly is the best on St. John!

Siren's Song Reviews
Description of Siren's Song from St. John Villa Rental -- Sirenís Song is located on Botany Bay lot 1-2A, which is 2.5+ acres of waterfront land with 700+/- ft of shoreline. Lot 1-2A has mature plantings, coconut palms and is the penultimate westernmost lot on St Thomas. From its waterfront location, high on the cliffs, Sirenís Song overlooks dazzling sunsets, as well as glorious, long-distance sea and ocean views with several outlaying islands and cays. On a clear day you can see Puerto Rico to the West and St. Croix to the South. The sky on clear nights is awesome, because there is no light pollution. It's like being on a private island without the inconveniences. A short stroll from Sirenís Song takes you to Mermaid's Chair, the sand bar that separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Caribbean Sea and links The Preserve at Botany Bay to a small island to the west, Little St. Thomas, which is owned by the Nature Conservancy.

We found the property to meet or exceed all expectations. Everything was well maintained and we had access to assistance as needed (but not needed really). The owner's representative met us at the airport and guided us to the property. We were given a property tour and shown how everything works. We had one elderly couple with mild limitations and they were able to fully enjoy this vacation here. There was something for everyone including fishing, shopping, hiking, deer, secluded beaches (three within hiking distance from the property - but also with auto access). snorkeling, and diving. A car is a requirement here as town is a moderate (20-25 minutes) drive. The views from the house and the pool are breathtaking. We have stayed in many nice places around the Caribbean but this one holds a special place in our hearts. It is in a secluded spot but not far from Charlotte Amalie for those seeking shopping or night life. The listing gives an accurate description of the property and the photos simply do not do it justice. If you think the pictures look great - just wait til you arrive and see the real thing. I highly recommend a vacation in this spot. When you go out to eat look for the place with the Green shutters (that are wide open) right on the waterfront (sorry but I have forgotten the name). It has great food and a really fun atmosphere. The happy hour is good as well. You can pick it out as many of the workers in the shops hit that spot after the cruise ships leave and the shops close. I do recommend getting a schedule of cruise ship arrivals and avoiding town on the busiest days. Days with only 1-3 ships are best. Also if you go to Megan's beach. do so on a day with fewer cruise ships or go in the late afternoon as the cruise folk will be leaving. That is definitely worth a trip while on St Thomas. When you go for a drive, plan plenty of time, drive slowly and enjoy the views (the roads are narrow and very curvy with little or no shoulder). The driver must pay attention carefully. Best if there are multiple drivers so you can take turns as it is difficult to observe the scenery and drive at the same time. Don't forget that there is a Ferry to St John Island that can be done in a nice day trip - very worthwhile. I highly recommend a longer stay here (over 1 week) as it will give you time to settle into the pace of Island life and explore this place leisurely.

What a fabulous house and vacation spot! The location is amazing and we felt like Robin Leach was going to show up to feature us on the lifestyles of the rich and famous! haha. There were 16 of us--10 adults, 4 teens and 2 tweens. Everyone had a memorable experience. The pool is ideal. The snorkeling from Mermaids Chair outstanding and two of the guys enjoyed the kayaking. We made almost all our meals in and thus, the 3 refrigerators were so helpful. Highly recommend this location to anyone wanting to truly get away to paradise!
