Garden By the Sea Bed and Breakfast -- 3 Exquisite Caribbean Rooms Garden by the Sea B&B is the quintessential Caribbean home: bright, colorful walls; local art and paintings; gingerbread trim; lush gardens with coconut and banana trees; & nesting birds, iguanas, and peacocks. We are located in the heart of Estate Contant and Enighed – a funky little neighborhood within walking distance of Cruz Bay and 1 ½ blocks from Frank Bay Beach. The sun sets over “our” salt pond bird sanctuary every evening and the sun rises to the neighbor’s crowing roosters. Garden by the Sea B&B is the place to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate. We are a 10 minute walk to town, therefore a rental car is not a necessity. The B&B is a 10 minute drive (by cab or car rental) to the famous north shore beaches of St. John. You will be served a delicious breakfast each morning on our tropically shaded veranda where you will be delighted by the bananaquit birds and geckos. Your hosts have lived on St. John for over 6 years and are very familiar with the island and the national park and are very willing to help plan your daily activities. Or we can help plan your nap and reading times between meals. Garden by the Sea is the perfect place for honeymooners, nature lovers, or those people who just simply need the perfect getaway. Welcome to Garden by the Sea. As you walk up the path you will pass through our tropical gardens. The greens and purples show off the wonderful West Indian gingerbread architecture. Come in and join us. The Common Room: Garden by the Sea boasts a comfortable and airy Common Room for casual conversation. Beautiful views surround it from all directions. This is the perfect spot to mingle with other guests, read from our local interests library, or simply lounge about with a cool and refreshing drink. The Veranda: Our expansive deck with tropical plants and teak loungers is a favorite for stress free relaxation. In the evenings, it's the ideal location to enjoy the sunset, trade winds and passage of sailboats between the islands of St. Thomas and Little St. James. Breakfast on the Veranda: Wake to a full breakfast on our shaded veranda, surrounded by local Genip trees, tropical bananas and a variety of palms. Breakfast is varied each day and includes homemade muffins, fresh fruit smoothies, frittatas, Pina Colada French Toast or Eggs Benedict Florentine. Beaches & More: Just a one minute walk from Garden by the Sea are Frank and Turner Bays which are wonderful for a quick swim, snorkel, or simply soaking up sunrays. The beautiful and pristine National Park beaches, which have made St. John famous throughout the Caribbean, can be explored via taxi or at your own pace with a rental jeep. Cruz Bay, with its eclectic shops, excellent restaurants and fun bars, is a casual ten minute walk along the shoreline road. The Garden Suite: The Garden Suite is beautifully shaded with both a bedroom and living area, as well as a full private bath. The bedroom features high-beamed ceilings and large windows that overlook the garden. Garden Suite Living Room: The living room, with elephant bamboo couch, opens to the deck through sliding French doors and offers views of the Audubon Pond and Turner Bay. Tropical Garden Shower: The Garden Suite's private and spacious bathroom with its stonework walls and tropical plants completes the Caribbean experience. The Wild Ginger Room: The Wild Ginger room also has a private tropical garden shower. With its Caribbean flair, it is easy to unwind and leave your stress behind. Wild Ginger Bath: Enjoy the luxury of nature in the Wild Ginger's bright and airy bathroom. The inviting tropical garden shower, facing the rising sun, is the Caribbean way to start your day. The Terrace View Room: This room features the privacy of being the only upstairs room with a fabulous view of the turquoise waters of Frank Bay and beyond to the island of St. Thomas. With its own veranda, cathedral ceilings and double sliding French doors, this bright and spacious room also enjoys a private, conventional bath.
